This is the second release candidate hopefully fixing issues on semi-old systems as well as some minor stuff.

Just a quick announcement:

SimilarImages 2009.06 not officially released, but available as a release candidate.
The candiate is supposed to fix various “threads didn’t circle” issues and furthermore show perform better (on newer systems).

I spend some time (this Friday mostly) to fix some of the current top crashers and remove the “DB-Interface” stuff.
CelebNamer now comes only with SQLite and all the “Pick interface” cruft is gone by now.
Some of you folks “bugged” me to release something new, and by this I’m giving in

This also means that the import/export wizards look different. Actually they are not wizards any longer. You may simply import/export stuff by choosing a file. And don’t worry about duplicates; they will be ignored.
CelebNamer will automatically populate the initial database using latest.csv, which is provided by the installer, if the database is not present yet.

Most notable changes:

• Fixing some top-crash bug
• Simplified DB management
• New experimental Thumb grid in the PreviewMultiple-dialog
• New experimental Grouping
• Some refinements to the matching algorithm
• Updated third-party libraries (new versions)

For those of you who might have been wondering why there are almost no updates to this site and the software:
I joined the DownThemAll! team back in Feb. and did some major work rewriting much of the download core and some UI.

Now the fruit of my labor is available online in form of a first beta version:

I would be really glad if you tried it and reported problems back.
There might be bugs, however it also fixed a lot of major issues and furthermore you’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling from contributing your time to improve it even more.
