The CelebNamer Product Page
What you can do with it
Drop some files/directories on CelebNamer. It then processes their filesnames and tries to find an association to a celebrity from a database of names.
It then displays the results so that you can manage them and copy/move them to a structured, sorted folder.
Managing
There are three classes of results:
- Matched files: CelebNamer found one celebrity name that matches the file name.
Depending on the quality of the match these files will be pre-selected for copy/move operations. - Multiple matched files: CelebNamer found more than a single celebrity name that matches the file name.
In this case CelebNamer shows all celebrity names and allow you to easily choose the best association by a simple double-click. - Not matched files: There is another window showing all files CelebNamer was not able to find an associated celebrity name for.
But you may manage them by the "Manually identify" tools to set an association yourself.
Manually identify
You have the ability to manually identify every file somewhere shown in CelebNamer.
This will help you to identify all not-matched files and also files with wrong associations (file name quality often ís pretty bad)
Copy/Move files
Once some files got identified it's easy to move them to a structured, sorted folder.
Simply set up a destination folder, click Copy Files or Move Files and CelebNamer will do the rest.
You are free to choose the folder format (A\Angelina Jolie or J\Jolie, Angelina). Additonally you may take use of "Extension-Subfoldering" which will then make folders like A\Angelina Jolie\jpg
The advanced name collision checker and duplicate finder will furthermore improve the results
The name collision checker
When copying/moving files it may occure that the destination folder already contains a file with the same name. In this case CelebNamer will automatically "adjust" the filename, e.g. ajolie.jpg becomes ajolie_1.jpg.
The duplicate finder
Whenever you copy/move a file and there is already a file in the destination folder CelebNamer checks both files comparing file size and a checksum (MD5). When files are the same the file won't be copied again. If you move files the duplicate file will be deleted (to your Recycle Bin).
You may also use the folder-wide duplicate finder. Then the whole destination folder will be checked for a file that has the same file size and checksum,
The Database
The celebrity database currently contains more than 17.000 international female cebrity names.
You are free to add more names yourself. Therefore you got easy-to-use Management tools.
Preview Tools
There are two files preview tools. Both currently work with most image formats.
First there is a small Preview Window which shows you the currently selected file. This happens on the fly.
Additionally there is a Preview Multiple Files window which will display a whole range of selected files.
